Fair Christmas Fayre is just around the corner and we’re really excited about the stalls that will be taking part this year!
In the latest of our ‘Meet the Stallholders’ series, Resource Uganda share what they will be selling on Saturday 10 December, and why they’re excited to be involved…
What will you be selling at Fair Christmas Fayre this year?
We’ll be selling beautiful jewellery made from paper beads (‘Kisa Beads’) – necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The beads are lovingly hand-made from strips of recycled paper by our women’s craft cooperative in a small village in Uganda. Through this initiative, Resource Uganda is helping local women to become financially independent, and empowering them to claim their rights within their community.
Why did you want to trade at the Fair Christmas Fayre?
We love meeting people and getting the chance to speak about what Resource Uganda is achieving with the help of our UK supporters. It’s also a great opportunity so support The Salvation Army’s fantastic work in the UK and overseas, and we love selling our beads and spreading some Christmas cheer!
What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
Our favourite things have to be clear, crisp winter mornings and not feeling guilty about eating way too much food!
