Say hello to one of our sellers….

We interviewed one of our fabulous sellers, to give you a glimpse of what will be on offer at this year’s Fayre.

Here is what they had to say..

What will you be selling at this year’s Fair Christmas Fayre?

We will be selling a carefully selected range of handmade textiles, woven throws and shawls, printed silk and kantha stitched scarves.

We also have handmade silk screen printed tribal art books and cards, block printed cotton rugs and our famous tiffin tins.

Tell us about why you started your stall/business?

I started the company in collaboration with Karthik, who lives in Chennai, India, to bring some of the amazing artisan made products of India to the world.

One of our many aims is to offer a portal to highly skilled and undervalued craftspeople struggling to get their products out to a wider market. With this opportunity they have a means to escape from the grip of exploitative middle people and develop an income level sufficient to sustain a life of dignity and give hope for the future.

Why did you want to trade at Fair Christmas Fayre?

We usually sell on market stalls in East London. On Saturdays at Broadway Market E8, a non-profit that donates to many local charities. On Sundays at Chatsworth Rd Market E5, also a locally led non-profit market, which aims to foster inclusivity and to cater for the whole local community.

Fair Christmas Fayre fits our ethos exactly! And it’s a wonderful location to promote our artisans work.

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

One of my favourite things about Christmas is the magic of having a beautifully decorated and fairy lit tree in the house!

Any good Christmas Cracker jokes?

What’s the most popular Christmas wine?

“I don’t like Brussels Sprouts!” Boo Boom!
